Mapoly Begins Pre-ND Programmes In Management Studies & Mass Com

The Academic board at its emergency meeting held  considered a paper which emanated from Management in respect of the above subject matter.

 In its consideration, the board was of the view that the issue was a welcomed development which would improve the revenue generation drive of the polytechnic and would provide a pool of candidates who would transit into the National Diploma Programmes:

Consequently the board approved the immediate take-off  of the pre national Diploma programmes in Management studies and Mass Communication and placement of advert for the admission of interested candidates

In addition to the above, the board approved the entry requirements and other eligibility conditions for the programme as presented hereunder;

Basic Entry Requirements
Prospective candidates into the Pre-ND programmes would be required to have the following qualification at ‘O’ level GCE/SSCE/WASC/NECO obtained at not more than two (2) sittings:

(i)                  Credit pass in English or Mathematics
(ii)                Two (2) additional credits and three (3) passes in any of
·           Economics
·           Commerce
·           Financial Accounting
·           Government
·           History
·           Geography
·           Yoruba
·           Literature in English
·           Biology/ Agricultural Science
·           Physics
·           Chemistry

Currriculum and course Specification
The extant National board for Technical education (NBTE) curricula and syllabi for the pre-National Diploma progarmmes as used by sister institutions presently running the programmes would be adopted.

Modalities for Transition into full time National diploma programmes
As part of the eligibility conditions for the transition into full time National Diploma programmes, the crop of successful candidates of the pre-ND programmes would be required to attempt the unified

Tertiary Institutions Matriculation Examination (UTME) before the completion of the Pre-ND programme, to pave way for the regularization of their admission.

Further to the above, the certificate so obtained at the completion of the Pre-ND programme would suffice for the candidates ‘O’ level deficiencies. However, such candidates would be required to make good their ‘O’ level in order to ensure their eligibility for Higher National Diploma programme.
