Unilag Begins Diploma in Electrical Engineering Maintenance Course

HRDC IN COLLABORATION WITH DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING ANNOUNCES ADMISSION INTO DIPLOMA AND ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MAINTENANCE

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes commencing Saturday, October 8, 2011.

(1) Diploma in Electrical Engineering maintenance course, and

(2) Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering maintenance course

1.    DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MAINTENANCE

FOR WHOM: The programme is designed for technical maintenance personnel in industries in the fields of electronics equipment installation, operation, maintenance and repairs.  They are specially designed for those who are already working in industries but are desirous of gaining more proficiency in their assignments on duties, Electrical and Equipment Vendors and Electrical Engineering Contractors.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Prospective candidates should possess either C&G/WAEC Course B, NABTEB National Technical Certificate in Electrical/Electronic Trades or their equivalents with a minimum of 3 years Industrial experience.

COURSE FEES

The Course Fee is N40, 000.00 (Forty Thousand Naira only) and N10, 000.00 for course material.

LECTURE DAYS

Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.00p.m to 8.00p.m AND Saturdays from 10.00a.m to 7.00p.m

LECTURE VENUE

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba.

DURATION: Two Semesters
2.    ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING MAINTENANCE

FOR WHOM:  The programme is designed for technical maintenance personnel in industries in the fields of electronics equipment installation, operation, maintenance and repairs.  They are specially designed for those who are already working in industries but are desirous of gaining more proficiency in their assignments on duties, Electrical and Equipment Vendors and Electrical Engineering Contractors.

Prospective candidates should possess either C&G/WAEC Course C or NABTEB Advanced National Certificate in Electrical or Electronics Trades, Diploma in Electrical Engineering Maintenance Course at Credit Level or their equivalents with a minimum of one year post qualification Industrial experience.

The Course Fee is N50, 000.00 (Fifty Thousand Naira only) and N10, 000.00 for course material.

LECTURE DAYS

Wednesdays and Fridays from 6,00p.m to 7.00p.m AND Saturdays from 10.00a.m to 7.00p.m

LECTURE VENUE

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba.

DURATION: Two Semesters

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Application forms are obtainable from the HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (HRDC), University of Lagos, Akoka, between 8.00a.m and 4.00p.m (Mondays to Fridays) upon payment of a non-refundable fee of N5,000.00 (Five Thousand Naira only) at WEMA Bank, ECO Bank or Intercontinental Bank, University of Lagos Branch, drawn in favour of University of Lagos Application Fees Account.

PAYMENT PROCEDURE: All fees are payable to the Human Resources Development Centre, University of Lagos, Online, Via University of Lagos Website www.unilag.edu.ng.using ATM/Cash card. Full details of online payment procedures are available in the Human Resources Development centre e-payment manual to be issued to successful candidates.   

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS AND COLLECTION OF ADMISSION LETTERS

Completed application forms should be submitted to Human Resources Development Centre not later than September 19, 2011. Candidates should check the UNILAG website for the list of shortlisted candidates. Admission letter for shortlisted candidates are to be collected from the same office. Letters of admission will not be posted to individuals.
