position of the Polytechnic Librarian of the Polytechnic.
THE JOB
The Polytechnic Librarian is a Principal Officer of the Polytechnic and reports
to the Rector in the Day to Day administration of the Institution's Library,
comprising three (3) Libraries located in Ikorodu, Isolo and Surulere
campuses.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
- The position is for initial four year tenure (renewable once, as may be
determined by the Governing Council of the Institution).
- The basic salary attached to the post is on Consolidated Polytechnic
Academic Salary Structure (CONPCASS 15), other allowances and fringe
benefits are as applicable to similar positions in tertiary Institutions in
Nigeria and as may be determined by the Governing Council from time to
time.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
i. Good honours degree with NYSC discharge certificate and Master's
degree in Library Science/Library and Information Science.
ii. Possession of a Doctorate degree in Library Science/Library and
Information Science will be an advantage.
iii. He/she should have at least 15 years post-qualification cognate
experience, preferably in a tertiary institution.
iv. The applicant should have scholarly publications in peer-reviewed
journals.
v. Candidates must have a good knowledge of Library automation software
and general usage of ICT in Library operations.
vi. He/she must possess excellent managerial, interpersonal
communication, organizational and planning skills.
vii. The candidate should be registered with the Librarian Registration
Council of Nigeria (LRCN).
